Terms of Service

Last Updated: April 27, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) outline what you can expect from Kukoo Montessori and what we ask of you when you visit kukoomontessori.com or buy one of our wooden Montessori toys. Throughout this document, “Kukoo,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Kukoo Montessori. “You” and “your” refer to anyone who accesses our website or makes a purchase.

We kept the legal language to a minimum here. Where a clause requires formal phrasing, we followed it with a plain-language explanation so nothing gets lost in translation.

When you browse our website, add a toy to your cart, or complete checkout, you are agreeing to everything outlined below — along with our Privacy Policy, Shipping Policy, Refund and Returns Policy, and Cancellation Policy. Those four policies are part of these Terms.

If anything here does not sit well with you, we respectfully ask that you not use our website.

1. Who We Are

Kukoo Montessori is a wooden toy brand rooted in the educational philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori. We design and sell premium, sustainably sourced wooden toys for children from birth through age six. Our product range — from busy boards to name puzzles to object permanence toys — is built to support real developmental milestones rather than entertain through overstimulation.

Where to find us: 25700 I-45, Suite 400, The Woodlands, TX 77386, United States

How to reach us: [email protected] | +1 (817) 484-6268

We respond Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Central Time.

2. Who Can Shop With Us

Our toys are made for young children, but our website is built for the adults in their lives — parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, educators, and gift-givers.

To place an order, you need to be at least 18 years old. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must handle the purchase on your behalf. We also need you to enter truthful details at checkout — your real name, a valid shipping address, and working payment information. Incorrect details lead to delayed or undeliverable packages, and neither of us wants that.

We hold the right to decline or cancel any order if something looks off — unusual purchasing patterns, incomplete contact details, or any activity that suggests the order is not legitimate.

3. How Wood Behaves (And Why It Matters)

This section exists because wood is not plastic — and that is the entire point.

Every Kukoo toy is shaped from natural timber: beechwood, maple, or rubberwood depending on the product. Trees grow in different soil, absorb different amounts of sunlight, and develop different internal structures. The result is that no two pieces of wood look identical. Grain direction, knot visibility, color depth, and surface texture will vary from toy to toy, even within the same product line.

These differences are not quality issues. A slightly darker patch on a stacking ring or a visible grain line running through a puzzle piece is evidence that the material came from an actual tree — not a petroleum-based mold. We consider these marks part of what makes each toy one of a kind.

We photograph every product under controlled lighting and calibrate colors as accurately as we can. Still, what you see on your screen depends on your device’s display settings, brightness level, and color profile. Minor visual discrepancies between a product photo and the physical toy you unbox are normal and expected.

4. Personalized Orders

Some of our most popular items — particularly our wooden name puzzles — are made to order with your child’s name, initials, or a custom word.

Here is what that means in practice:

  • Once you submit a personalized order, our production team begins crafting it within 24 hours. After that window closes, your order cannot be changed, cancelled, or returned — because the toy has already been cut and engraved specifically for you. We cannot reuse a puzzle that reads “OLIVIA” for a customer who wanted “OLIVER.”
  • Please review your text carefully before you hit the order button. Check for correct spelling, spacing, and capitalization. We engrave exactly what you type. If a personalized item arrives and the engraving matches what you entered at checkout, we cannot offer a replacement or refund for that order.
  • The one exception: if the item arrives damaged or if we made an error on our end (wrong letters, skipped characters, misaligned engraving), we will make it right at no additional cost. Reach out to [email protected] with a photo, and we will take it from there.

5. Stock and Availability

Every item on our website is listed in good faith based on current inventory. However, stock levels shift — especially during holiday seasons and after a product gets featured on social media.

If something you ordered goes out of stock before we can ship it, we will email you within two business days with your options: wait for restocking (if a timeline is available), swap for a comparable item, or receive a full refund. We will never ship a substitute product without your explicit approval.

We also reserve the right to cap order quantities on high-demand items, pause sales to specific regions if logistics require it, or retire a product from our catalog entirely.

6. What Things Cost

All prices on kukoomontessori.com appear in United States Dollars (USD). We adjust prices from time to time based on material costs, shipping rates, and other factors — but a price change will never retroactively affect an order you have already placed and confirmed.

If we catch a pricing error after you place an order (for example, a toy listed at $3.99 instead of $39.99 due to a data entry mistake), we will contact you before charging or shipping. You can choose to proceed at the corrected price or cancel for a refund. We will not process an order at a price we both know is wrong.

7. Payments and Security

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and PayPal. Every transaction runs through encrypted, PCI-compliant payment processors. Your card number passes directly to the payment gateway — it never touches our servers, and we never see or store the full number.

Your order is not finalized until payment clears successfully. If a charge is declined, we will notify you and hold the order for a short period so you can update your payment method.

8. Taxes, Duties, and Additional Charges

For shipments within the United States, sales tax is applied automatically during checkout. The amount varies by state and is calculated based on your delivery address.

For international customers — including those in the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia — your country’s customs authority may assess import duties, VAT, GST, or handling fees when the package arrives. These charges are set and collected by your government, not by us. We have no control over the amounts, and we cannot include them in our checkout totals or prepay them on your behalf.

If you are unsure whether your country charges duties on imported goods, we recommend checking with your local customs office before ordering.

9. When Your Order Becomes Official

Adding an item to your cart or clicking “Place Order” sends us a purchase request — it is not yet a confirmed sale. Your order becomes binding when we send you an order confirmation email with your order number and itemized summary.

Between your click and our confirmation, we verify inventory, validate payment, and screen for anything unusual. In rare cases, we may reach out with questions before confirming — for example, if the shipping address looks incomplete or if an order triggers our fraud-detection checks.

If we cannot fulfill part of your order, we will let you know which items are affected and refund those specific items. The rest of your order ships as normal.

10. Shipping, Risk, and Delivery

Full shipping details — processing times, carrier options, estimated delivery windows, and costs — live in our Shipping Policy.

The key point to understand here: once we hand your sealed, labeled package to the carrier (USPS, FedEx, DHL, or another service depending on your region), the shipment is in the carrier’s hands, not ours. Carrier delays caused by weather, customs processing, local postal backlogs, or holiday volume are outside our control.

That said, we do not leave you stranded. If your tracking shows no movement for an extended period, or if the package is marked as delivered but never arrived, email us. We will open a carrier investigation, follow up on your behalf, and work toward a resolution — whether that means a replacement shipment or a refund.

11. Returns and Refunds

Our Refund and Returns Policy spells out every detail, but here is the short version:

Non-personalized toys in unused, original-packaging condition can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Personalized items cannot be returned unless the item has a manufacturing defect or was damaged during shipping. Refunds go back to the payment method you used at checkout.

If you received a damaged or defective product, contact us with a photo and your order number. We handle these cases quickly and at no cost to you.

12. Our Content Belongs to Us

Everything you see on kukoomontessori.com — our toy photography, product descriptions, blog articles, educational guides, illustrations, brand logos, page layouts, and graphic elements — is original work owned by Kukoo Montessori or used under license from our content partners.

You are welcome to share a link to any page on our site. You can also print a product page for your own personal reference (for example, to show a family member what you want for a birthday gift). Beyond that, copying, reproducing, reposting, or repurposing our content for commercial use requires written permission from us.

This applies especially to our product imagery and blog content. If you find our photos or writing reproduced on another website without attribution, we would appreciate a heads-up at [email protected].

13. Content You Share With Us

When you leave a product review, post a photo of your child using a Kukoo toy on social media and tag us, or send us images via email, you are giving us permission to feature that content on our website, social channels, newsletters, and marketing materials. This permission is ongoing and royalty-free, meaning we can use it without a recurring fee or expiration date.

Your content remains yours. We do not claim ownership of your photos or words. We make every reasonable effort to credit you when we feature customer content — and if you ever want something removed, email us and we will take it down.

One condition: by sharing content with us, you are confirming that it is genuinely yours and that using it will not violate anyone else’s rights.

14. Things You Cannot Do on Our Website

We built this website to help parents find thoughtful, well-made toys for their children. Using it for any of the following purposes goes against that intent — and against these Terms:

Submitting false information during checkout or account registration. Probing, scanning, or testing our website for security vulnerabilities without written authorization. Introducing malicious software, scripts, or code of any kind. Running automated bots, scrapers, or crawlers to extract our content, pricing data, or product information. Downloading and republishing our product photos, blog posts, or educational content on another website, marketplace, or social media account as if it were your own. Pretending to represent Kukoo Montessori in any communication — emails, social media messages, phone calls, or otherwise.

We take these violations seriously and will pursue appropriate action, including account suspension, order cancellation, and legal remedies where warranted.

15. A Note on Children and Online Privacy

Our toys are designed for children. Our website is designed for the grown-ups who buy those toys.

We do not knowingly request, collect, or store personal data from anyone under 13. This aligns with our obligations under the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) in the United States. If you discover that a child has submitted personal information to us without a parent’s or guardian’s knowledge, contact us immediately at [email protected] and we will delete that information.

Our Privacy Policy covers all data-handling practices in full.

16. No Guarantees Beyond What We Promise

We work hard to keep kukoomontessori.com fast, accurate, and available around the clock — but we cannot guarantee perfection. Server maintenance, software updates, third-party service outages, and forces beyond our control can cause temporary disruptions.

Our toys are crafted to high standards using quality natural materials. We stand behind the craftsmanship described on each product page. Beyond those specific product descriptions, we do not make additional promises — express or implied — about fitness for a particular use, durability under conditions outside normal play, or compatibility with non-Kukoo accessories or materials.

17. Our Financial Responsibility to You Has Limits

If something goes wrong with an order, we want to fix it. But our financial responsibility has boundaries.

Kukoo Montessori — along with our team members, partners, and suppliers — is not financially responsible for indirect or consequential losses connected to your purchase or website use. This covers situations like: a late delivery that misses a birthday, lost business revenue attributed to a delayed gift order, or data loss resulting from a website interruption.

The maximum amount we owe you in any dispute is capped at the price you paid for the product involved. This applies regardless of whether the claim is based on contract law, negligence, product liability, or any other legal framework.

18. You Agree to Have Our Back, Too

If a third party brings a claim against Kukoo Montessori because of something you did — misusing our website, violating these Terms, or infringing on someone else’s rights — you agree to cover our resulting costs, including legal fees and any damages awarded.

19. Links to Other Websites

Our blog articles, educational guides, and resource pages occasionally link to external websites — research papers, parenting organizations, Montessori associations, and similar sources. These links exist to support our content with credible references.

We do not operate, control, or endorse those external sites. Their content, accuracy, and privacy practices are their own responsibility. If an external link leads somewhere unexpected or concerning, let us know and we will review it.

20. Which Laws Apply

These Terms operate under the laws of the State of Texas in the United States.

If a disagreement arises between you and Kukoo Montessori, we prefer to resolve it through direct conversation first. Send us an email outlining the issue, and we will respond within five business days to work toward a fair outcome.

If direct communication does not resolve the matter within 30 calendar days, either side may initiate binding arbitration administered under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. Arbitration proceedings will take place in Montgomery County, Texas.

Both parties agree to resolve disputes individually. Neither party will pursue or participate in class-wide legal action or collective arbitration related to these Terms.

21. If Part of This Document Is Invalid

Should any court determine that a specific clause in these Terms cannot be enforced, that ruling applies only to the affected clause. Everything else remains intact and binding. The unenforceable portion will be adjusted to the smallest degree necessary to make it valid, while keeping its intended purpose as close to the original as possible.

22. This Is the Whole Agreement

These Terms — combined with our Privacy Policy, Shipping Policy, Refund and Returns Policy, and Cancellation Policy — represent the complete understanding between you and Kukoo Montessori. No prior emails, conversations, or informal promises override what is written here, unless we put a separate written agreement in place and both parties sign it.

23. We May Update These Terms

As our business grows and regulations evolve, we may revise this document. When that happens, the “Last Updated” date at the top will change. We recommend checking this page from time to time.

Continuing to use kukoomontessori.com after a revision goes live means you accept the updated Terms. If a future revision includes something you disagree with, your remedy is to stop using our website.
